“You talk too much and you’re too nice to people”

Valuable words from my first boss. Didn’t realise it at the time, but this piece of negative information, would later in life be pretty good attributes for a podcaster. Back in 2016 I decided to throw caution to the wind and try something totally new. Start a podcast series called Create more. Little did I know that 18 months and 10,000 downloads later, I would always look back at this as one of most rewarding things I’d ever done.

Create More represented a massive change in how I viewed the world. It opened up so many avenues of new ideas and creative people to talk to. Interestingly after I presented to our office my first series, one of my directors would explain to me, “I’ve never seen you talk to with so much confidence and enthusiasm before”. I realised that I had found something I had been looking for, for a really…really long time. Something that was creative, fun, and natural to do. Its a feeling that I have been trying to trust to guide me. Its not always worked out, but the trail and error of being creative is part of the gig.
